Near the rapidly growing and beautiful west coast of Florida, North Port is between Naples and Tampa, and also between Sarasota and Fort Myers. U.S. 41 passes through the center of town while I-75 is close by with two exits in North Port, and a third exit planned in the near future. North Port offers the quiet ambiance of a country setting yet with easy access to transportation, airports, educational centers and abundant recreational opportunities all within a short drive.

Incorporated in June 1959, North Port had 87,000 residentially platted lots, and 200+ acres available for commercial development in its 76 square miles, prior to several recent voluntary annexations.

With only 15% of the area developed, the population today is just over 54,000. The population is projected to eventually climb to 250,000+ people.

The semi-tropical climate and nearly perfect weather conditions lend themselves well to North Port’s comfortable leisurely style of living.

North Port is a growing city with a new high school and middle school. New commercial projects are being developed bringing many additional services to the area and the community boasts of its new City Center, firehouse and its approximately two dozen houses of worship. Development of conventional & multi-unit housing is ongoing and land suitable for further development is readily available at reasonable prices.

Although North Port now has more than 100 square miles, it still enjoys the friendliness and convenience of life in a small town. Near the rapidly growing and beautiful west coast of Florida, North Port is between Naples and Tampa, and also between Sarasota and Fort Myers.

For the boater or fisherman the Gulf of Mexico beaches are only 20 minutes away with Charlotte Harbor just to the south. Deep sea fishing or fresh water fishing in the many canals, lakes and river banks, the opportunities are almost limitless.

Charlotte Harbor includes one of the world’s largest protected marine estuaries encompassing 270 square miles with 219 miles of natural shoreline. Other nearby attractions include parks and recreational areas, golf courses, art galleries and exhibits, a professional symphony orchestra and theatrical productions.
